It's been a while since I've mentioned any works-in-progress around here.
I can't seem to capture the colors right now, but I'm making a little cardigan to gift to a special little guy. I'm using Berroco Comfort DK in turquoise and seedling, which are way brighter than this picture leads one to believe.
I'm down to six WIPs. If I get it blocked, I'll do a post about my most recent finish on Friday. I'm trying really hard not to start anything new until I get more projects completed, but there are so many things I want to make and so much yarn around here calling my name.
It's so hard being me sometimes.

Movie Monday - 8/1/2016
Where is the year going? It is going by quickly, but one silver lining is that Oscar worthy films will be coming out soon. Of course, that means that I have to get out and see them.
I watched Rock the Casbah recently. Bill Murray, Kate Husson, Bruce Willis, Zooey Deschanel and Scott Caan star in this film. It's about a washed up talent manager (Murray) who discovers a local girl with a great voice while on a USO tour in Afghanistan and wants to make her famous. There are cultural obstacles to overcome. It was cute.
Hail, Caesar! is a Coen Brothers film set in Hollywood in the 1950s. The studio machine, Communism scare, gossip columnists, morality clauses and big, choreographed productions are remembered in this quirky comedy. George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson,
Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill and Ralph Fiennes were all great in their roles. I liked it.
I actually went to a theater recently and watched Free State of Jones. Matthew McConaughey plays Newton Knight and the film is inspired by true events that happened in Jones County, Mississippi during the Civil War. In the film, Knight, a defector from the Confederate Army fought against racial inequality during and after the war. Keri Russell, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mahershala Ali also star in this movie. It was pretty good.
