I didn't do a WIP Wednesday post this week because the beach has been glorious! By that reasoning, one would think that there are no FOs because, beach! (It's my personal preference to not knit at the beach - sun, sand, sweat...not congruent with knitting in my book. Plus, beach! I'd rather enjoy the beach to the fullest.)
No, the reason I don't have FOs is because
1. I ran out of yarn with 5 rows left:
I'm trying to find someone with leftovers they will sell to me. I do not want to buy an entire skein for 5 rows. Alternatively, I can rip back the lace rows I've done and bind off.
2. I'm trying to decide if I need to do another repeat or not:
It fits like a snug beanie on my head. I think my head is on the larger end of the head size spectrum, if 22" is a large in head sizes. I'm not sure. It would fit someone with a smaller head better. Plus, another repeat is supposed to make it slouchy. I'm not sure about that, because this fabric I'm knitting doesn't have much drape.
Oh well, thoughts to ponder.

Movie Monday - 6/26/2017
I have a few movies to discuss this week!
Megan Leavey is based on the true story about a decorated Marine and her combat dog Rex. The two went through two tours together until both were injured by an IED. The movie stars Kate Mara, Edie Falco, Will Patton, Common and Ramon Rodriguez, to name a few. It was good.
The Founder is the story about how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton) created the McDonald's fast food chain from the original restaurant founded by Richard and Maurice McDonald. Also starring are Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch. It was interesting.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is based on the novel of the same name by J.K. Rowling. The story is set in the 1920s, when a British wizard comes to New York, on his way to Arizona, in search of magical creatures. While in NYC, he runs into a bit of trouble involving an escaped Niffler, a demoted Auror and a wannabe baker. Eddie Redmayne, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterstin and Colin Farrell star in this charming wizarding world story. I liked it.
That's all for this time.

FO Friday - 6/24/2017
Yeah, yeah...I know I got the date wrong. This is an FO Friday post, but it's today...not Friday. My dash has been full and fun the last few days. And that's all I'm going to say about that. There are FOs to see.
Pattern: Gather by Tin Can Knits
Yarn: Berrocco Comfort DK Solids in Seedling, Turquoise and Red
Comments: I made these hats for gifts. I made the child and adult small sizes. I know they are supposed to fit snugly, but the adult small hats fit children whose ages were in single digits. My gauge wasn't off People! Aside from that, it's a fun, quick knit and I will likely make it again, keeping the sizing issue in mind.
Pattern: Hermione's Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder and the Fish Lips Kiss Heel
Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in Bluebonnet Highway and in Antler for the heels and toes
Comments: I've made this pattern before and I will make it again. I think it's a great pattern. It looks nice in tonals, but it can really make multis sing. Yep. Like it.
Pattern: This sock is a plain vanilla with a Fish Lips Kiss Heel
Yarn: Berry Colorful Yarnings in HP and a gray Must Stash Yarn Mondo Mini
Comments: I made these socks for The Kid. He loves them. The Husb likes them too; so, I may have to make another pair. I love stripeys. I always have to knit one more stripe - they go fast!
That's all for this time. I'll go back to what I was doing.

WIP Wednesday - 6/21/2017
Driving through the rain with True Colors playing on the radio, I snapped this picture of one of the two WIPs I'm concentrating on this week:
The yarn is Lake Dillon on BMFA Socks That Rock Lightweight. Lake Dillon is an exclusive colorway that Tina dyed for TLE last summer. The picture is not a good representation of the colors in this yarn, which is a shame, because it really is a beautiful colorway. It really reminds me of a Colorado mountain lake in the middle of summer.
In case you are wondering...the current WIP count is eight, but shh! Don't tell. Four of them are longtime WIPs that I really need to finish or frog. I won't think about that today.

Party in My Mailbox!
A few weeks ago, I ordered some yarn that was dyed in honor of Kevin the Skank, The Yarn Hoarder's dog, who was ill. Kevin has sadly passed since, but I'm happy to have this reminder of him. The yarn came this week.
Dyer: KarrieLynn at The Freckled Whimsy on etsy.
Yarn Info: The stripey is called Just Kevin and the green skein is called Kevin's Favorite. Both are on her Brawny base which is 75% SW Blue Faced Leicester/20% Nylon.
Yum!
I am thinking I will make a pair of socks...likely for me, because I'm the only one who actually wears handknitted socks around here. I just finished a pair of socks for The Kid this last week (which you will be seeing on Friday) and The Husb remarked that he'd love a pair in the same colorway. Have either of them worn the pairs of socks I've made for them in the past? Nope. I will probably make The Husb another pair, but Dang! Wear your handknit socks People!
Today is Father's Day. I hope you are having a good one.
